If you have water stained ceilings, but you are not exactly handy with
drywall, tape, and mud, there might be a better way. As long as
the leak has been repaired and the ceiling damage isn't severe,
you should be able to seal the stain with a stain blocking primer
and paint over it.
Kilz
now offers an aerosol stain sealer that may be perfect. The spray
nozzle is vertical so it's great for spraying upward. It is
available in off white, making it easier to match up to age worn
ceilings. A close match should keep you from having to prime the
entire ceiling before repainting.
Clean
the area, sand down any rough spots, and apply Kilz as directed.
Allow the quick dry formula to dry completely. Sand, wipe, and apply
a second coat if necessary. Then, just continue as you would with
any other ceiling painting project.
This
is so much easier than trying to replace the ceiling or even patch
it. Kilz has lots of great products and this is just another terrific
option on the list. Even if you don't have stains, this product
will work great for freshening up old ceilings.
