Light

Light may be defined as that part of the electromagnetic spectrum that can be detected by the human eye. Light Travel in straight lines called rays. The rectilinear propagation of light has of the direct effects on the formation shadow by an opaque object.

A bundle of rays is known as a beam of light and there are mainly three different kinds of beam.

  • Parallel Beam

  • Convergent Beam

  • Divergent Beam

Parallel Beam Convergent Beam Divergent Beam

Under this topic, we will be discussing about the following...

Light - Lenses

Discussion of some of the main features of thin converging lenses with a labeled ray diagram. A series of important ray diagrams and its application will also be discussed.

Light - Refraction

State and discuss the 2 laws of refraction, refractive index and some common phenomena of refraction in our daily life.

Light - Reflection

State and discuss the 2 laws of reflection, types of reflection, ray diagrams for plane mirror and some common applications of reflection.
