Reloxin- A Botox Replacement

Botox Injection
I have never used Botox, however I find this pretty interesting:
There is a replacement on the horizon for the very popular Botox called Reloxin. Reloxin is made from the same botulism bacteria as Botox, but is much faster working and cheaper. It's been used for several years already in Europe under the brand name Dysport.

Botox takes 3-5 days after injection to work whereas Reloxin will act in 1-2 days. Botox lasts for 3 months, Reloxin for 6. Reloxin will likely be cheaper as well. Right now Botox costs $350 to $500 a session. Maybe that's why I'm not using it.

Expect Reloxin to be on the market in mid 2009.

Botox -vs- Reloxin
When Reloxin becomes available in the USA I plan on using it b/c of the better & longer lasting effects. The price is comparable to Botox so it won't be a huge difference. First, I do want it to be "safe" & hope the FDA really challenges the European research on Reloxin.
Best wishes to all.
