Fish oil capsules are easy to swallow
Maintaining a healthy blood sugar level is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle. These5 foods can lower blood sugar and/or help stabilize it:

Cinnamon- Some of the natural compounds in cinnamon have the ability to mimic insulin, helping glucose get into cells, where it can be used for energy, and significantly lowering blood sugar in the process.

One study involving 60 men and women found that taking as little as 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon a day lowered blood sugar by 18 to 29 percent. It also reduced bad LDL cholesterol by 7 to 27 percent in people with diabetes.1

Sweet Potatoes- Not the blood sugar disasters that are regular potatoes, but the sweet potatoes that are usually served at Thanksgiving are excellent sources of fiber (helps lower blood sugar) and carotenoids (regulates insulin response).

Avocados- are high in monounsaturated fats, like those found in olive oil. These fats are known to reverse insulin resistance and the soluble fiber they have also stabilizes insulin levels.

Onions- The very sulfur compounds that give onions their teary-eyed appeal are also shown to lower insulin levels. They also boost HDL, so eat up!

Garlic- eaten in a non-supplement form can reduce blood sugar levels and also lower LDL cholesterol
